I live in Uni halls and my printer occasionally spits out some random document I don't recognise, presumably from another student trying to use their own printer and picking the wrong one - we're all using the same wifi, it's one of them weird ones where it sends you to webpage and there's a password, idk if that matters or not, anyway - it's annoying and a waste of the ink.
Is there a way to put a password on my printer so I'm the only one who can use it? Or put my name on it so people don't use it by mistake? Or 'close' it to devices searching for a printer, that it's not already friends with? Or, if I turned it off when I'm not using it, would that work or would it just pint when I turn it on and I'll have to tell it off? I can't seem to be able turn on the 'auto-off' feature on the IP address thingy. I can and will forget to turn it off manually if that's the only option, lol.
