How do I print 8 x 10 photos on HP ENVY 7640?  Photo paper tray holds 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 paper only.

Use the main tray for larger photo paper.

  • Remove regular paper from the tray
  • Load your photo paper print side down.
  • Close the tray - Change or retain the paper settings on the printer control panel

NOTE:  If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down list, Select Custom

Caveats

Printer will take large photo paper in Tray 1 as long as you remember to set the Source (in your print software) to Main Tray (or Tray1 - wording varies) as opposed to "photo tray".

If your printer does not support 8x10 inch paper as a standard size (see Specifications > Paper Handling),

If your printer supports custom paper size forms,

Create a Custom Paper size form for your paper.
