In my printer setup menu I find no possibility to select 8 1/2 x 11 paper size. If I select 8 x 10 or 8.5 x 13 the upper and lower edges of the original are not printed.

Hi @grgr59,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to select 8.5”x11” paper size.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- From what software are you printing?
Meanwhile, I recommend you select the A4 paper size and check whether it resolves the issue.
If the issue persists, I recommend you create a custom paper size 8.5”x11” and select it.
Follow the steps in the below article to create a custom paper size.
Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care!
Cheers!
