Hello Bossroc13.

I understand your concerns. What printer do you have? Please click here to find out: Model Number.

If you need assistance, please verify your exact issue so I can assist you further.

Are you trying to print a custom size paper?

Also, you can try an alternative driver as a work around. Click here to find out this information from Shane_R post.

Once I find out your model number, I can verify if your printer supports "customer size paper", since only some printers support this feature.

Looking forward to hear from you.

I worked on behalf of HP.

Thank you! This worked exactly the way you said it would and I have Vista. I was trying to print labels and couldn't get it to work because of my special paper and now it works perfect so I don't have to return my printer. Kudos Kicktires!

I am trying to print with my HP 8600 on a custom size paper and there is no option to choose a custom size.  Any help would be appreciated - as I love to do at home invitations etc and this necessitates the use of custom sizes.  thank you

Thanks!  This worked like a charm!  I can't understand why the HP Officjet Pro 8600 won't allow custom paper sizes while the 8500 did.  But I'm happy now.

I read the solution to use a setup for a HP deskjet 9800 printer and this allows me to make a custom size, however my Pro 8600 prints right justified using the deskjet 9800 choice - I have the landscape, face down, right end first, center options checked in the print setup. I am printing mailer postcards 4.25 X 5.5. The Pro 8600 paper guide tray only centers the paper media and the print misses my postcard. - I tested using an 8X11 and could see where it prints (to the right). Maybe I am missing something - appreciate any suggestions.

Additional info -  I am using Dazzle postage software to print - all seems fine in Dazzle - I just choose the HP9800 as my printer.

Hey there!

First of I was very grateful to find your post here. I purchased the HP 8600 specifically to print my wedding invitations and of course found out for myself I was unable to custom size pages. Your suggestion made it possible!

However now I am trying to print my RSVP cards and now although the printer '9800' states read word recognizes an issue with the printer and says cannot be recognized - DESPITE it woring perfectly 3 days ago! I can print to printer 9800 in wordpad but of course that program does not support my RSVP template....plz help I am stuck!
