I recently purchased the 4650 and found that the printing speed is much lower when copying a document than when scanning and printing the same document. Apparently the default adjustment of the printing function is set for high quality, photographic documents which require high density of dots and composite black, which is unnecessary for text-only documents, resulting into low speed and high ink consumption. The problem can be by-passed by scanning and printing the document instead of copying, but this is quite ridiculous. Is there a way to adjust the printing quality when making a copy? Thanks for your advise.

Hi! @Carlo0125, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand you would like to increase copy speed for non-photographic documents.
Don't worry I will try to help you out.
Did you make any changes on your printer?
Please try the steps recommended below.
On the printer control panel, touch or press the Copy button or icon.
Touch or press the Settings icon or button, if necessary, then navigate to the Quality or Optimization setting.
If either setting is not available, skip to the next step.
Change any of the following settings to improve copy quality.
Reduce/Enlarge: Reduce or enlarge the size of the copy.
Lighter/Darker or Contrast: Adjust the contrast of the text or photo.
NOTE:
On some printers, the Lighter/Darker option is accessed from a separate button on the control panel.
Optimize or Enhancements: Change this setting to optimize for photos, text, or mixed.
Draft Mode: Turning on Draft Mode speeds up copying, but reduces quality.
Quality: Change the copy quality to Normal.
Touch or press the Back icon or OK.
Load the original document or photo, then try to copy.
Refer this article for further Fixing Copy Quality Issues.
Also, try updating printer firmware and check if it helps.

Thankyou MrRobot. My printer, 4650, does not provide for quality setting, but anyhow following your instructions my problem has been solved: I found that in the settings menu the paper was set as photographic paper, although the basket contained plain paper. This is why the copy speed was low. Now I changed the setting to plain paper, and the copy speed is fast. Thank you for your help!
