I do not want to uninstall the Solution Center as it has some nice features, but I do not want it popping up on most operations. I do a lot of "duplex" printing on a non-duplex printer, so I have to print single pages which always results in an "Out of Paper" condition and a pop-up of the problem. Likewise, I get frequent paper jam which also generates a pop-up of which I am already aware from the sound of the printer (only a couple of feet away).

 

I bought this printer quite a few years ago because of its ability to scan slides and negatives, of which I have many going back to the 1950s. It also has other nice features such as a "back-up" CD/DVD writer and an USB port.and SD card ports.

 

My only two complaints are the frequent paper jams and the blowing through the color cartridges - especially the yellow - (constant head cleaning) as I rarely print in color (I use the Black only setting on the printer)

It sounds like the HP Solution Center pop-ups are becoming a real nuisance, especially with frequent paper jams and manual duplex printing. Since you don’t want to uninstall the software, here are some ways to disable the pop-ups while keeping the useful features: 

 

Steps to Stop HP Solution Center Pop-ups

 

1. Disable HP Solution Center at Startup

  1. Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  2. Go to the Startup tab.
  3. Locate HP Solution Center and uncheck it.
  4. Click Apply and OK, then restart your computer.

 

2. Modify HP Solution Center Notifications

  1. Open HP Solution Center.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
  3. Disable alerts related to paper jams, low ink, and out-of-paper warnings.

 

3. Disable HP Solution Center Background Processes

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Processes tab.
  3. Locate HP Solution Center and right-click to End Task.
  4. If the pop-ups persist, go to Startup and disable HP-related entries.

 

If none of these steps fully resolve the issue, let me know, and I can refine the troubleshooting further! Hopefully, this helps reduce the interruptions while printing.
