Sometimes it prints double sided, even though i didnt turn on that option.   And sometimes it doesnt.  How do I get it to stop doing that? I only want to print on one side....

Hi @urbantea,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that you are unable to print single-sided from your HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer.

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

You need to uncheck the box next to the Two-Sided option in the Print window.

And here's the step by step guide for you listed below:

1. On your Mac, open the photo or document you want to print.

2. Click File, and then click Print.

3. Make sure your printer is selected.

4. If you do not see options on the Print dialog box, click Show Details.

5. Select the box Copies and Pages, the drop down menu offers several selections including Layout.

6. De-Select Two-Sided.

Let me know how that works.

I hope you have a good day ahead.

Thank you so much! I knew it had to be something easy. PCs and Macs are so different. I work with PCs at work and my Mac at home.
