This is a brand new printer.
I have downloaded the latest windows software (DJ3830_Full_WebPack_40.11.1124.exe) and installed it.
I have updated the printer's firmware from the printer's setting button.
The issue I face is that when I scan documents (A4 size) via the automatic document feeder using either the scan to file from the printer's interface or using the "HP scan" menu option from the start menu>hp>hp 3830 series>hp scan, parts of the document are not scanned. At times the top and bottom of the page aren't scanned, and it's entirely random.
I have used the correct page size as well as the "autodetect detect page" as well as "entire scan area" options instead of setting page size to A4, but no luck.
Scanning from the HP app on my phone works perfectly as does the copy feature from the copy option directly from the printer.
Flat bed scanning works fine from the PC, the app as well as the scan button on the printer.
As far as I can see this seems to be a software issue on the PC.
So how do I fix this?
Thanks

Welcome to HP Forums.
Check the scanner bar functionality: Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon to start a copy job. If the scanner light does not move or illuminate, the scanner mechanism requires servicing.
Did you make a copy from ADF and check if that comes fine?
Meanwhile:
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
- Turn on the printer.
