Hp 6960 not printing black after installing new HP XL cartridge.
Bought another cartridge and installed that but still will not print black

Try performing troubleshooting steps from this document HP OfficeJet 6900 Printers - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues.
If the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer

Yes I have tried all those steps several times already.
The printer is just over 2 years old and has only ever been fed exorbitant HP genuine cartridges. The guy in the electrical shop told me that not printing black was a known issue with HP printers and having scoured the internet for solutions I can see countless people raising the same complaint.
The only solution I have seen is where an HP agent says "I will send you a private message to help with this" ... why is it private if so many people are having this same problem?
I have literally wasted hours that I cannot afford now trying to fix what should be a simple printer problem and this will definitely put me off from buying HP in the future!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
