HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Hi I wondered if anyone can help. My printer was working fine yesterday now all of a sudden it won't do anything. It won't copy or print from my Mac. It says it is printing but isn't doing anything. I have tried everything even factory reset. I could understand it it was just an internet problem but it is connected but it won't even do a simple thing like photo copy. It says on the front screen printing but isn't doing anything. Can anyone help please.

@Adele54, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, remove your printer from the list, and then add it back again. Make sure your printer is set as the default.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

If possible, test printing or photocopying from another device to see if the issue is specific to your Mac. You can also try resetting the printing system on your Mac by control-clicking in the Printers & Scanners menu and selecting "Reset printing system."

Lastly, double-check your printer’s network connection or try using a USB cable instead of Wi-Fi to rule out network issues.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Didn't work for me.  I've spent 48 hours trying to fix this printer now.  Come back Lexmark, all is forgiven
