Officejet Pro 7730 All in one
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I purchased a HP Officejet Pro 7730 that was delivered directly from HP Singapore, and it came OUT OF THE BOX, DEFECTIVE. I purchased this printer from an Authorised Reseller who received this printer from the HP Distributor and the printer was DEFECTIVE out of the box!

What was MORE SHOCKING, when I took the printer BACK to exchange, we checked all 5 UNITS they had, and they ALL HAD THE SAME DEFECT! How disgraceful and shocking, that I purchase a printer, and then ALL the printers that they wanted to exchange my unit with, ALL had the same defect!

The scanning lens lamp unit, that takes the image under the glass, had DOUBLE SIDED TAPE that they did NOT remove from the factory! Every time the scanning lens unit would scan UNDER the glass, the tape would streak COMPLETELY under the glass and get stuck, making every single scan I did NOT come out clear and with the obvious marks in place of the image to be scanned.

When I went back to the Authorise Reseller, I asked them that I would like the Officejet Pro 7740 model since NONE of those units had the defect from the FACTORY. I was more than willing to pay the different but the Authorised Reseller REFUSED to exchange my printer! They said I had to have it "Repaired" by them.

I have all the videos I took of my printer and experience, and have posted it on Youtube.  I think this issue is common with this printer. I am so ANGRY and UPSET that I wanted to purchase 5 units, and ALL of them had a defect. I purchased 1 unit that I have with me now, and I had to get that REPAIRED ON MY OWN TIME, and then the REPAIR from your Authorised HP OUTLET was a DISASTER!

I cannot believe HP sent these printers WITHOUT doing any sort of Quality Control or Checking? And I CANNOT believe the HP Authorised Reseller would NOT allow me to PAY THE DIFFERENCE and BUY the more EXPENSIVE version! I have been a HP Officejet user for almost 15 years now, and HP Laserjer MFP user for my business, but I am now seeing that maybe it is time to leave HP for another brand. I am absolutely appalled and angry that this BRAND NEW PRINTER, out of the BOX had a defect. And Now I CANNOT RETURN the printer AT ALL or even get an EXCHANGE for it!

If you want to see the videos and/or pictures, I can show them to you. But I am telling you, I was absolutely NOT HAPPY in the videos! And neither has all the Youtube viewers watching the video as well! I am almost DONE with HP. I have purchased over 60 printers in the past 10 years for my business, I am DONE with HP now. Never in my life, have I had so many things go wrong with a BRAND NEW HP Officejet purchase, than I have now.
