HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My Hp Officejet Pro 8025 printer won't work. I have set up the product on my laptop but on the printer screen, it says "Align Printhead." Every time I press continue, it says, "printing alignment page" and stays in a loop like that for ages. I even left it on to go to the store for a bit over an hour and it was still looping with no progress when I came back. I found an HP official video on Ytube and have tried almost all the steps in that and have accomplished nothing. I haven't tried contacting HP support yet, as my warranty is expired, but I will contact them if I can't find anything that works. I do believe that the problem could be Hp Instant Ink, though. During the setup process, I was unable to connect Instant Ink to the printer, as is kept saying, "Error. We are unable to connect your printer to finish Instant Ink enrollment. Your payment method will not be charged." I'm confused and somewhat annoyed. I have tried multiple times to connect Instant Ink but unsuccessful. Please help!

Hi @kwabs,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "Align Printhead" error on your HP Officejet Pro 8025 printer, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or foreign objects blocking the printhead or paper path.

Inspect Ink Levels: Ensure that your ink cartridges have sufficient ink. If any of the ink cartridges are empty or low on ink, replace them.

Clean the Printhead: Sometimes, the printhead may be clogged, causing alignment issues. You can clean it by following these steps:

  • a. On the printer control panel, go to "Setup."
  • b. Scroll down to "Printer Maintenance" and select it.
  • c. Choose "Clean Printhead" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Align the Printhead Manually: If the automatic alignment process fails, you can try manually aligning the printhead:

  • a. On the printer control panel, go to "Setup."
  • b. Scroll down to "Printer Maintenance" and select it.
  • c. Choose "Align Printhead" and follow the on-screen instructions. This may involve printing a test page and scanning it.

Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve alignment issues.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer on and check if the error message persists.

Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can perform a factory reset on your printer to clear any internal errors. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings you have configured on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
