My good old HP Photosmart C5180 all in one printer will not print out the whole page. It prints lines and vertical text but not all the horizontal text and adds large splotches of black ink down the right hand side of the paper.

This started all of the sudden. I turned  printer off and on, did an ink test and diagnostic but still has black splotches down right side.

Oh oh. When I opened up the printer the right hand side was covered in black ink. I cleaned up what I could, but there is still ink inside the printer.  When I print it is cleaner, no globs of black, but still shadows of black along the same side. I notice that the colours will not print anymore either, probably due to the black ink drying inside the mechanics? I am thinking this is not fixable and i'll need to get  a new printer?

The site you sent me to was great! Lots of info and I followed it all.

@Janice15

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
