Hi @SparksVona, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to a Wi-Fi network: The blinking world button usually means the printer cannot find or connect to the Wi-Fi network. Make sure your printer is within range of your router.
  • Check your Wi-Fi network: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is working and other devices can connect to it (like a phone or computer).

Reboot the Printer

  • Power cycle the printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This often resolves minor connectivity glitches.

Check Router and Wi-Fi Settings

  • Restart the router: Sometimes a simple router restart can fix connectivity problems. Turn off your router, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Check for network interference: Ensure there’s no interference or overcrowding on your network. If possible, connect to a 2.4 GHz network instead of a 5 GHz one, as some printers have trouble connecting to the 5 GHz band.
  • Ensure proper SSID settings: Verify that your router’s SSID (network name) is broadcasted and not hidden.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi Network

  • Use the Printer’s Control Panel:
    1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the light starts blinking (about 5 seconds).
    2. Then press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
    3. Wait for the printer to connect. The world button should stop blinking and stay solid when successfully connected.
  • Manually Connect to Wi-Fi:
    1. Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button together on the printer’s control panel.
    2. This will initiate the printer’s Wi-Fi setup mode. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Check Printer Software and Driver

  • Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes the printer’s firmware can be outdated. Go to the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for any firmware updates for your printer.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: If you're trying to print from a computer, ensure that the latest printer drivers are installed. You can download the drivers from HP’s official website.

Check for a Printer Error

  • Look for any error messages: If your printer is displaying an error message (such as "No Paper" or "Paper Jam"), resolve that issue, as it could be affecting the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Clear any active print jobs: If there are stuck print jobs in the queue, cancel them and restart the printer.

Test with a Different Device

  • Print a test page: Try printing from another device (like a phone or tablet using the HP Smart app) to verify whether the issue is with the printer or your original device.

Perform a Factory Reset (if necessary)

  • If none of the above step's work, performing a factory reset on the printer might resolve the issue. Note: This will erase all current settings (including Wi-Fi network details).
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for about 10-15 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
    3. Wait for the printer to reset and reconfigure the network settings.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
