Hi @Ros0591,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a common issue with HP printers. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Power Off and On: Sometimes, simply turning off the printer and then turning it back on can reset any internal mechanisms that might be causing the cartridge door to stick.
- Ensure Proper Technique: Make sure you're pressing the cartridge door release button correctly. Typically, you need to press it firmly while gently pulling the door towards you.
- Check for Obstructions: Inspect the area around the cartridge door to ensure there are no obstructions or debris blocking it from opening fully.
- Use a Tool: If the door is particularly stubborn, you might gently pry it open using a plastic or wooden tool like a spatula or a flathead screwdriver. Be very careful not to damage the printer while doing this.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its factory settings can resolve hardware-related issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
