Hi @Lsl63367,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Using non-HP ink cartridges can sometimes cause compatibility issues with HP printers, but it's usually not permanent. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem.
- Remove the Non-HP Cartridges: Turn off the printer and remove any non-HP ink cartridges that you inserted.
- Clean the Cartridge Contacts: If there's any ink residue on the contacts, clean them gently with a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Make sure the contacts are completely dry before reinstalling the cartridges.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer's internal memory and resolve any issues.
- Reinstall HP Cartridges: Install genuine HP ink cartridges according to the printer's instructions. Make sure they are securely in place.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can address compatibility issues. Go to the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions to install them.
- Run Printer Diagnostic Tools: Many HP printers come with diagnostic tools that can help identify and resolve issues. Check your printer's manual or the HP website for instructions on how to run these tools.
By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue and get your HP Officejet Pro 8615 working again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
