HP 2545
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Would the HP Deskjet 2545 Have the same power cord as my old HP Officejet 4500? I have been given the 2545 on loan and the power cord is missing from the box. It does seem to plug in the same exact manner as the 4500 (purple cord end and all) but I can't seem to get the printer to turn on. Suggestions?

Hi,

The Officejet 4500 and the Deskjet 2545 power consumption is not even close, the 2545 consumes 10 watts maximum while the officejet 4500 consume approx. 32 watts, meaning the power specifications are different and the output voltage is difference.

The 4500's power supply do not work with the 2545 and may damage it with too high voltage delivery...

You may find both power specifications below:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01954185

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03811750

You would need the proper pwoer supply to oerate the Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 (assuming that no damage was caused by the incomaptible power supply), its part number is 957-2496.
