Hi @prema2812,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble with the HP Smart app not opening for your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3636 All-In-One Printer, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check for Updates: Ensure that both your smartphone/tablet and the HP Smart app are updated to the latest version. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
  • Restart the Device: Sometimes, simply restarting your smartphone or tablet can resolve minor glitches that might be preventing the app from opening.
  • Clear Cache and Data (Android): If you're using an Android device, you can try clearing the app's cache and data. Go to your device's Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Storage > Clear Cache/Clear Data. Please note that clearing data will remove any saved preferences and settings, so you might need to set up the app again.
  • Reinstall the App: Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device and then reinstall it from the respective app store (Google Play Store for Android, App Store for iOS).
  • Check Permissions: Make sure the HP Smart app has the necessary permissions to access features like camera, storage, and location (if required). You can manage app permissions through your device's settings.
  • Connect to the Correct Network: Ensure that both your printer and your smartphone/tablet are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The HP Smart app requires them to be on the same network for proper communication.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from power, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
  • Use Alternative Methods: If the HP Smart app continues to have issues, you can try using other methods to interact with your printer. For example, you can print directly from your computer using the standard print dialog or access printer settings through the printer's control panel if available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
