Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Can anyone tell me how to fix the on off button flashing with all other lights flashing and error showing in display. Can't even turn the printer off. Have tried removing and reinstalling. Works once then problem comes back the next time you try anything.

@Rocky67, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that the printer is in an error state, follow the steps in sequence

Solution one: Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  3. Wait at least 15 seconds.

  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.

  6. Turn the printer on.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.

  • If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

Solution two: Plug the printer directly into an electrical outlet

Plug the product directly into an electrical outlet to make sure that the power source functions correctly.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

  2. Unplug the power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors.

  3. Plug the power cord directly into an electrical outlet.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

  5. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

  6. Try the task again.

If the issue persists, try a different electrical outlet.

the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
