Hi @DPDPDP1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 11 after cancelling HP Instant Ink and installing your own cartridge indicates a problem related to the new cartridge or the printer's recognition of it. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Steps to Resolve Error Code 11
Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Ensure that the toner cartridge (HP 134A) is compatible with your specific printer model.
- Verify that the cartridge is an authentic HP product.
Remove and Reinstall the Cartridge
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer and carefully remove the toner cartridge.
- Inspect the cartridge and the inside of the printer for any packaging material or obstructions.
- Reinstall the toner cartridge, making sure it is securely in place.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the back of the printer.
- Turn the printer on and check if the error is resolved.
Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can cause recognition issues with new cartridges.
- Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
Disable HP Cartridge Protection
- Sometimes HP printers have a setting called Cartridge Protection that may prevent the use of third-party cartridges or even HP cartridges purchased outside of the Instant Ink program.
- Open the printer software on your computer.
- Go to the settings or maintenance section.
- Look for an option related to Cartridge Protection and disable it.
Check Instant Ink Account Status
- Make sure that your Instant Ink subscription has been fully cancelled and that there are no pending issues with your account.
- Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and verify the cancellation status.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
