Hi @Blinky12,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Printer Failure" error message on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer series indicates that there might be an issue with the printer hardware or ink system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams in the printer. Open the printer cover and check all accessible areas for any stuck paper.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer, and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Update Firmware/Software:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website and download any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Access the printer menu on the control panel and check the ink levels. Replace any empty or low ink cartridges.

Clean Printhead:

  • If the printhead is clogged, it can cause printing issues. Most printers have a utility for cleaning the printhead. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a printhead cleaning.

Inspect for Hardware Issues:

  • Check for any visible damage to the printer, such as broken parts or loose connections.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables.
  • Wait for about 10 minutes.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
