HP Tango
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I am unable to print from my MacBook Air to my HP Tango printer in colour.

Software on both is latest available.

Print preview shows the image in greyscale.

I converted the original PDF files to .png and .JPG files but that made no difference.

The issue impacts files from different sources....( they are all colour Habit Trackers).

I can print content from the internet and my photos in colour no problem.

When I select File/Print then 'Printer Features' and the only  optionfor my HP Tango is to change the dpi.

When I check the options for my old Brother printer under 'Printer Features' there re many options including 'color/greyscale option'.

(I stopped using my Brother as it stopped sensing the Yellow cartridge plus it doesn't have WiFi). Any help and tips would be great.

I would to confirm if you have downloaded and installed HP SW from 123.hp.com.

Did try printing from your Mobile phone?

Did you print using airprint or wireless connection?

Hello silversurfer, I am printing via WiFi. I do have the HP Smart software installed. When I check Printer Information via HP Smart the installation status is ' not installed', everyhing else looks ok. Firmware version is INFNTYLP2N001.1847A.00.

Ok so I was unable to print in colour successfully via my MacBook/WiFi however I achieved a colour printout using my Apple mobile/HP Smart app (AirPrint) and WiFi connection, yay!

I have the EXACT same issue with my MacBook Pro.  I was also able to print in color (after viewing this thread) from my iPhone, but it would be great if there were an actual solution to the problem we're having.

I got it to print in color from my phone but not from my Mac. I would like to print from my Mac.

I’m having the same problem as well.

I chatted with HP text support today and the agent had the audacity to request remote access to my computer! What the?$# Seriously - I urge anyone reading this not to allow HP remote access to your personal computer.

I have spent over an hour with online tech support and they as of October 6th (today) no solution. One first line support rep. said that there is no iOS print driver for the Tango which is why it is causing the problem.   I have verified current firmware is installed. The HP Easy Start application produced the following message when processing: "We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please to to the HP Website and search for product solutions there."

The link for the HP Tango driver installer (HP Easy Start) for iOS is here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-tango-series/20486540

Once installation was verified as "Successful" in the install driver, the HP Smart App is displayed.

The message that appears when you attempt to access the HP Smart App from your MacBook is "HP Smart currently supports printing PDF documents and "most" image files. Print other file types directly from their associated applications (e.g. Word, Outlook)".  Really a printer driver that requires printing only through their application?  not from source documents?

This is insane!
