I can not print form the scanner bed.  It seems to be stuck in the feeder mode.  I keep getting an error message - THE DOCUMENT FEEDER WAS NOT ABLE TO PICK UP THE ORIGINAL.  LOAD THE ORIGINAL IN THE DOCUMENT FEEDER AND TRY AGAIN.  

Have done this many times and turned the printer off and on again many times.

Are you printing or scanning?

You cannot, for example, print directly from the ADF or the flatbed - printing needs paper from the tray.

 

 

Are you trying to Scan content from the Flatbed (glass) and perhaps then print that content?

If yes,

Answer

Open the software / application you are using to Scan

Change the Source to "flatbed" or "glass"

 

You did not include which software / application you are using nor did you mention your Operating System / version.

Change the Source to Printer Scanner

Tap the Scan Settings Drop-down menu (selected as "Letter" in the example) 

Change the Input Source to Scanner Glass

Thank you for the information.  I downloaded the software HP Smart.  The first thing that is asked for is the code that you get from the printed sheet requested from the printer web connection.  I could not connect with the web server.  Prompt says printer can not connect with server.  I disconnected the web and connected again.  Got a wireless network test result test that says I am connected but still get the same response when trying to print page with code.

Can not download software to solve this problem.
