HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 wireless printer
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have HP OfficeJet Pro 6960 and it will not install my CD that came with printer to my Vista Pc.  It says not compatible, but I for years I had my HP  Envy working with Vista. On the printer CD it included Vista as compatible, but not working for me.

Any help sure would be appreciated...

Hello,

Your printer Officejet 6960 is not compatible with Vista 64-bit OS. There is no Full Featured Software for Vista OS.

However you may try the below steps that should let you start to print.

1.Click Start button on the Computer .
2.then click on Control Panel .
3.then Printers and Faxes
4.On top-left, click on Add a Printer
5.Click on Add a Local Printer
6.Then while "Use an Existing port" is selected , select "Virtual USB port ... " then click Next
7.from the Manufacturer list, select HP, and then under Printers list select Deskjet 990c" , then Click next and complete the wizard

Now try printing . It should work.
