I have a MAC book Pro - OS Ventura and I cannot print with my lovely printer that I use to use with my old Mac. This Mac doesn't have USB port, but I have a (but I have the correct cable, and it works correctly), but I cannot print for some reason. Doesn't appear any error message. Shows as if the document has already been printed. I have tried other ports but it still doesn't work. The printer still working with my old computer, but I want to use my new one. Please, can you help me?

Hi @Marie1993 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're encountering compatibility issues between your HP LaserJet P1005 printer and your new Mac running OS Ventura.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

  • Check for Driver Compatibility: Ensure that your printer driver is compatible with macOS Ventura. Sometimes, printers may require updated drivers to work with newer operating systems. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers specifically designed for macOS Ventura. HP LaserJet P1005 Printer Software and Driver Downloads
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Restart your Mac as well.
  • Check Printer Settings: Go to your Mac's System Preferences and select Printers & Scanners. Make sure that your HP LaserJet P1005 printer is listed there. If it's not, try adding it by clicking the "+" button and following the on-screen instructions.
  • Reset Printing System: In the Printers & Scanners preferences, you can reset the printing system. This will remove all printers from your Mac and reset printing settings. After resetting, try adding your HP LaserJet P1005 printer again.
  • Check Printer Connection: Even though you mentioned that the cable works correctly, it's still worth double-checking the connection. Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your Mac.
  • Test with Different USB Ports or Cables: If possible, try using different USB ports on your Mac or even a different USB cable to rule out any issues with the port or cable.
  • Verify Printer Queue: Open the Printers & Scanners preferences, select your HP LaserJet P1005 printer, and check the print queue. Make sure there are no stuck print jobs. If there are any, try canceling them and then try printing again.
  • Check Printer Compatibility: Confirm that the HP LaserJet P1005 printer is officially supported for use with macOS Ventura. You can usually find this information on the HP website or in the printer's documentation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
