I followed instructions online, and uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled drivers, checked for updates in software.  Still can't print in color

Hi,

Please try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

once completing any suggested steps and restarting your PC as prompt, may you able to print color using the newly added (Copy1) instance of your printer?
