Hi @KKEMEGA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with recurring printing issues, especially when the printer works intermittently. Let’s try to resolve this together.

  • Does the error message appear after specific types of print jobs, or does it happen after every job, regardless of the content?
  • Have you checked the printer for any paper jams, debris, or low ink that might be causing the "attention needed" error?
  • Are you using a direct USB connection, or is there a USB hub or extension involved that could be affecting the signal?

Let's try these steps.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Open the printer’s paper tray and access areas where paper might be stuck.
  • Gently remove any paper, dust, or debris inside the printer.
  • Ensure there are no paper clips or other small objects obstructing the print path.

Reinstall Printer Drivers and Software:

  • Uninstall the existing printer drivers from your computer through Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software directly from the HP Support site.
  • Restart the printer and computer after installation.

Use a Different USB Port or Cable:

  • Try connecting the printer to a different USB port on your computer.
  • If you're using a USB hub or extension, connect the printer directly to the computer instead.
  • Test with a different USB cable if available.

Check Printer Queue and Reset:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers and double-click on your HP 3700 printer icon.
  • Clear the print queue by canceling all pending print jobs.
  • Restart both the printer and computer and try printing again.

Perform Printer Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power it on.
  • Test the printing again to see if the error persists.

If the issue continues after following these steps, it could be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
