When setting up my HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One-Printer using the smart app I keep giving the message “Open your settings to allow Bluetooth permission.” The settings seemed to be fine, so I go back to the app and get the same message.
My wifi seems to be connected but I can’t finish the printer set-up because of the Bluetooth problem aforementioned.
I’ve tried several solutions that I’ve found for set-up, and wireless connectivity, but none of these mention Bluetooth and/or how to fix the issue that keeps telling me to allow permissions in Settings— to allow said permission for my Bluetooth !
I’ve had the printer now for about 3 1/2 weeks and can only use the Scan function.
PLEASE HELP!
NB: I Have iPad Pro 2020 12” screen with iOS Version 17.1.1. [FYI]

Hi @tbn3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
This printer is not compatible with your IOS ver 17.1.
However, If you're encountering a message on the HP Smart app prompting you to open your settings to allow Bluetooth permission for your HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer, here's what you can do:
Check App Permissions: Ensure that the HP Smart app on your device has the necessary permissions to access Bluetooth. Go to your device settings, find the list of apps, and locate the HP Smart app. Check if Bluetooth permissions are enabled for this app. If not, enable them.
Restart Devices: Sometimes, restarting both your mobile device and the printer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a minute, then turn them back on and attempt to reconnect via the HP Smart app.
Reconnect Bluetooth: In the Bluetooth settings of your device, forget or remove the HP printer from the list of paired devices. Then, try re-pairing or reconnecting the printer through the HP Smart app.
Update HP Smart App: Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device. Update the app through your device's app store to make sure you have the most recent features and bug fixes.
Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your printer is within range and that Bluetooth is enabled on the printer itself. Some printers might have a dedicated Bluetooth button or an option in the settings menu to enable Bluetooth connectivity.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, contacting HP Support or checking their online support resources specific to the HP DeskJet 2710e might provide additional troubleshooting steps or insights into the problem you're encountering with Bluetooth connectivity through the HP Smart app.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
