A yellow light on an HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer typically indicates a warning or error condition. To resolve this issue and get your printer working again, you can try the following steps:
Check for Error Messages: If there is a display screen on your printer, check if it's showing any error messages*. These messages can provide valuable information about what might be causing the issue.
Inspect Paper and Paper Jams: Make sure there is no paper jammed inside the printer. Even a small piece of torn paper can trigger an error condition. Open all the printer's access doors and check for any visible paper jams.
Check Ink or Toner Levels: If your printer has separate color cartridges, check if any of them are running low or empty. Replace any depleted cartridges with new ones.
Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few seconds and then plug it back in. Turn the printer on again and see if the yellow light persists.
Update Firmware and Drivers: Make sure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware and drivers. Outdated software can sometimes cause errors.
Perform a Hard Reset: Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power source. Then, hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear internal errors.
Clear Print Queue: If you've sent multiple print jobs to the printer, it might be stuck in a print queue. Clear the print queue on your computer and try sending a new print job.
Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no foreign objects, such as paper clips or debris, inside the printer that might be causing a blockage or triggering the error light.
Reset Printer Settings: Check if there's a "Factory Reset" option in the printer's settings. This will reset the printer to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will also erase any custom settings you've configured.
Contact Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider contacting HP's customer support. They can/should provide specific guidance based on the error condition and help you troubleshoot further.
If the yellow light persists after trying these steps, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with the printer. In that case, contacting HP support or taking the printer to an authorized service center might be the best course of action.
