Hi @joeAO60,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a blinking power light on your HP DeskJet 4100e All-in-One series printer generally indicates that the printer is in a certain state that requires attention.

Here are a few common reasons and solutions to try:

1. Check for Errors on the Printer Display or HP Smart App

  • Look at the printer display or the HP Smart app for any error messages that might explain why the light is blinking (e.g., paper jam, out of ink, etc.).

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and carefully inspect the paper path for any jams or obstructions. If found, remove them and close the cover.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check if the blinking light issue is resolved.

4. Ensure the Printer is Properly Connected

  • Make sure the printer is properly connected to your WiFi network or via USB to your computer. If there is a connectivity issue, it might cause the blinking.
  • If using WiFi, you may want to try reconnecting the printer to the network via the HP Smart app.

5. Update the Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause unexpected behavior. Use the HP Smart app to check for any available firmware updates and install them.

6. Check Ink Levels

  • Low or empty ink cartridges might also cause the light to blink. Check the ink levels and replace any empty cartridges.

7. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Unplug the printer while it is powered on, wait 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. This can clear any temporary software or hardware glitches.
