Hi @golf_18,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 won’t power up after clearing a paper jam, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Power Supply

  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord securely and try turning on the printer.

2. Inspect for Remaining Paper Jam

  • Make sure there are no small pieces of paper left inside the printer, especially in the paper path and the rear access door.
  • Check the input tray and output tray as well.

3. Check for Obstructions

  • Open all doors and compartments to see if anything is blocking the printer mechanism.
  • Look for any foreign objects or debris that may have fallen inside.

4. Reset the Printer

  • If the printer shows no signs of life, perform a hard reset:
    • Disconnect the power cord.
    • Hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and try to power it on.

5. Check the Power Outlet

  • Ensure that the outlet is functioning by plugging in another device to see if it powers up.
  • If using a power strip, try plugging the printer directly into the wall outlet.

6. Inspect the Power Cord

  • Check the power cord for any visible damage. If it's damaged, you may need to replace it.

7. Try a Different Power Outlet

  • Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the original outlet.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
