Hi @golf_18,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 4650 won’t power up after clearing a paper jam, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Power Supply
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet. Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord securely and try turning on the printer.
2. Inspect for Remaining Paper Jam
- Make sure there are no small pieces of paper left inside the printer, especially in the paper path and the rear access door.
- Check the input tray and output tray as well.
3. Check for Obstructions
- Open all doors and compartments to see if anything is blocking the printer mechanism.
- Look for any foreign objects or debris that may have fallen inside.
4. Reset the Printer
- If the printer shows no signs of life, perform a hard reset:
- Disconnect the power cord.
- Hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and try to power it on.
5. Check the Power Outlet
- Ensure that the outlet is functioning by plugging in another device to see if it powers up.
- If using a power strip, try plugging the printer directly into the wall outlet.
6. Inspect the Power Cord
- Check the power cord for any visible damage. If it's damaged, you may need to replace it.
7. Try a Different Power Outlet
- Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the original outlet.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
