Every time I try to print from my laptop which the printer is connected to keeps giving me a message error of ERROR PRINTING but does not give me the error problem.  I have tried turning it off and back on, I have checked my internet connections, and can't find where the problem is.  At first, it was that the printer wasn't connected to the internet, but fixed that, but still will not tell me the error, or why I can't print.  Have anyone else had this problem, and if so what did you do?

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an error while printing.

Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try a printer reset -

1) Take out the cartridges.
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

If the issue still persists, try these steps -

Step 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -

Click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Step 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type
and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

I guess I should change my subject: CAN'T CONNECT TO INTERNET, even though the printer says I am and everything on the DIAGNOSTICS RESULTS says that there are no problems.  The printer says that I am connected to my internet, but when I check the internet on my computer, it doesn't show the ENVy connection on my icon that shows all the internet addresses, it's like it disappeared.  When I first started trying to correct this matter, there was an address for ENVY under my internet address. Guess I don't know where to put the correct address.  The HP NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE doesn't show it either.  I have gone through all your troubleshooting repairs and nothing is working.  The Error msgs I get now is" 1. Scan to computer is no longer available; 2 No Internet Connection. 3. and  Today,  Scan to the computer is currently unavailable.  I have been working on this for 3 days now.  About ready to throw it out the window. Sorry, in being long-winded.  Thank you for your assistance.

@sebarn01,

It looks like you were interacting with @asmita6658, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,

After reviewing your post this definitely looks like that the printer is not connected to the network. Don't worry as I have a few other steps which should help you resolve this issue.

Let’s start by performing a network power drain. Follow the steps below:

Turn off all the devices connected on your network including the PC, Smartphones, printer, modem (if present) and router. Make sure all the devices in the network are turned off / unplugged.

Wait for 2-3 minutes.

Now turn on the modem if present. Wait till all the lights are steady and idle.

Then turn on the router. Again wait for a couple of minutes so that the lights are all steady.

Then turn on the PC and other devices.

If you are facing any issue while using the printer then try using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to this link: HP Printers - Using HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)  to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If the wireless light is blinking and not connected. I would suggest here is to restore the printer to the network defaults. Once done, run the wireless setup wizard and connect the printer to the network.

To restore the printer to the original network settings

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status

menu.

2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless

Settings menu.

3. Select Restore Defaults.

4. Confirm selection to restore defaults.

Now print the network configuration page on the printer:

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status

menu.

2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless

Settings menu.

3. Select Print Report, and then select Configuration Page.

Now once done, Run the wireless setup wizard on the printer to connect to the network:

1. Press the Wireless button from the printer control panel, and then select Settings.

2. Scroll to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to do a root level uninstall and reinstall of the printer drivers.

  • Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Please Click here to download and install the software.
  • In the connection type window, select “Wireless” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
