Microsoft Windows 11

I have an Officejet 7612 printer.

I am getting the message: "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Press OK to try to recover. If the problem persists turn printer off, then on. Contact HP if you continue to get this message 0x6011bed"

I have tried powering down, removing the power cord and holding the power button on for 30 seconds and this did not help.

Also, I have tried several times to enter my serial number via different HP web pages and HP does not recognise it.

I am using original HP ink cartridges.

Just following up on my last post. I have wasted hours trying to resolve this problem.

Unfortunately, HP will not process any request without the product serial number...............................HOWERVER,  THEY DO NOT RECOGNISE THE SERIAL NUMBER AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROCEED ANY FURTHER.

I can see from other posts that other people have been having the same problem. It looks like HP do not have a solution to this problem.

Has anybody had this issue solved??

Hi @DemCon1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

The error message 0x61011bed on your HP OfficeJet 7612 printer typically indicates an issue with the printer's printhead or a carriage jam. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve this error:

Step 1: Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer:

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.

Disconnect the power cord:

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the power outlet.

Wait for 60 seconds:

  • Allow the printer to reset.

Reconnect the power cord:

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet.

Turn on the printer:

  • Press the Power button to turn the printer back on.

Step 2: Check for Paper Jams

Open the printer:

  • Lift the scanner lid to access the paper path.

Check for jammed paper:

  • Look for and remove any jammed paper or debris inside the printer. Make sure to check the paper input tray and the output slot.

Move the carriage:

  • Ensure the printhead carriage can move freely. If it's stuck, gently move it to the center of the printer and check for any obstructions.

Close the scanner lid:

  • Once you’ve removed any jams and ensured the carriage can move, close the lid.

Step 3: Clean the Printhead

Open the ink cartridge access door:

  • Lift the access door until it locks into place.

Remove the ink cartridges:

  • Gently press down on each cartridge to release it and remove it from the printhead.

Clean the printhead contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and the cartridges.

Reinstall the ink cartridges:

  • Reinsert the ink cartridges back into their respective slots until they click into place.

Close the ink cartridge access door:

  • Lower the access door until it locks.

Step 4: Update the Printer Firmware

Check for updates:

Download firmware updates:

  • If a firmware update is available, download and install it following the on-screen instructions.
