I was using my printer in the normal course of my workday, and it just suddenly stopped working. My HP Account says "Printer Failure", and all the lights are blinking with an E6 error. I ran a diagnostics test and it said there were no issues detected. I tried the virtual assistant but it did not offer or accept my E6 error response. I did the usual stuff of turning the printer off, unplugging and waiting, but as soon as I plug it in, the exact same things happen. Anybody else experience this and have a solution to offer? TIA

Hi @KH34C ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the E6 error on the HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer typically indicates a hardware issue that may require further troubleshooting. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open all accessible panels and compartments to check for any paper jams.
- Remove any stuck paper carefully to avoid tearing.
Inspect Ink Cartridges:
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
- Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure proper seating.
- Close the access door and check if the error persists.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If you can access your printer's menu, check for any available firmware updates and install them.
Clean Printhead:
- Use the printer's maintenance menu to run a printhead cleaning cycle.
Additional Troubleshooting
Print a Diagnostic Page:
- Sometimes printing a diagnostic page can help reset certain errors. This might be possible from the printer's menu or through the HP Smart app.
Factory Reset:
- If you have exhausted other options, performing a factory reset can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
