Hi @Stimmo,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank Plus 555 Wireless All-in-One printer is showing as offline and the internet (Wi-Fi) button is flashing, this indicates the printer is not connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is working properly and that your laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Move the printer closer to the router to ensure it's within range.
2. Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for 3 seconds until it starts flashing.
- On your laptop, open the HP Smart app.
- Select Add Printer and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network again.
- If it asks for a password, enter your Wi-Fi network's password.
3. Reset Printer Network Settings
- Reset the network settings on your printer by pressing and holding both the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds.
- This will reset the Wi-Fi configuration on the printer. Afterward, try reconnecting it using the HP Smart app.
4. Check Printer Status
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers on your laptop.
- Right-click on your printer and ensure it is not set to Use Printer Offline (if it is, uncheck this option).
- Also, set the printer as Default Printer if it’s not already.
5. Restart the Printer Spooler (Windows)
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click on it, and choose Restart.
