Hi @dptexas

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating, but there are a few steps we can try to get your HP OfficeJet 4655 printer working again after the paper jam. Here's a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to help resolve the issue:

1. Check for Residual Paper Jam

Even though you've cleared the paper, sometimes small pieces of paper or debris can get stuck in the printer. Here’s what to do:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer and carefully inspect the paper path (the rollers, and the area where the paper feeds) to make sure there is no remaining paper stuck.
  • Remove any visible pieces of paper gently, making sure not to tear them.
  • Check the paper tray for any misalignment or paper left behind that could cause further jams.

2. Check the Ink Cartridges and Printhead

Sometimes after clearing a paper jam, the printer might still have issues due to the printhead or ink cartridge getting stuck.

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly seated. Remove them and reinsert them if necessary.
  • Gently clean the printhead and cartridge contacts with a soft lint-free cloth (dampened slightly with water). Dry them before reinserting.

3. Perform a Printer Reset

A reset might help clear any internal errors and get the printer back to its normal state:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cable from the printer and the power outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.

4. Check the Paper Settings

Make sure the paper tray is properly loaded with paper, and the paper is not wrinkled or misaligned:

  • Open the paper tray and make sure there’s enough paper in it, but not too much. The stack should be even.
  • Make sure the paper guides are properly adjusted to the size of the paper.

5. Check the Printer Queue

Sometimes a print job can get stuck in the queue, preventing further prints:

  • On your computer, open the "Devices and Printers" section in the Control Panel.
  • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet 4655 printer and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel all print jobs in the queue.
  • Try printing again after clearing the queue.

I hope this helps.
