How can I make my printer find my new router?

Looking at the specs on this device it supports B/G/N wireless which are older standards. Current routers typically support newer wireless standards and are SUPPOSED to be backwards compatible but often that is not the case. The best option is one of the following:

1. If your new router supports this feature, lock the MAC address of your printer to only connect to the 2.4 Ghz channel. Not all routers offer this option.

2. The other option is to assign a unique SSID to the 2.4Ghz channel and then only alllow the printer to connect to that 2.4 Ghz SSID.

Thanks for your response. How do I "lock the MAC address of your printer to only connect to the 2.4 Ghz channel".  And how do I know if my router offers this option. My router is a Pentanet Prism Wi-Fi Mesh Router.
