@neweginusa, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

A flashing blue light on your HP OfficeJet 8120e typically indicates that the printer is trying to connect to a wireless network but hasn't successfully connected yet.

Since you mentioned it was working fine earlier, the connection may have dropped. Here are some steps to help you resolve this:

Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and other devices can connect.
  • Move the printer closer to the router if possible.

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer/mobile device.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on.

Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode

If the printer isn’t reconnecting:

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button (📶) and the Cancel button () together for 5 seconds.
  • This will restore Wi-Fi setup mode (the blue light should start blinking slowly).
  • Now, use the HP Smart app on your phone or computer to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

Use HP Smart App to Reconnect

  • Download or open the HP Smart app. HP Smart
  • Tap Add Printer and follow the prompts to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
