Hi @Nance23 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the "Printerhead problem" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 typically occurs when there is an issue with the printhead, which could be clogged, misaligned, or not seated properly. Here are a few steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check for Printhead Installation Issues

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer's top cover to access the printhead and cartridges.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for any damage.
  • Check the printhead for any visible obstructions, such as dried ink or paper dust.
  • Reinstall the printhead: If it looks misaligned or not securely seated, gently reseat it into place. If it’s a separate unit from the ink cartridges, ensure it is securely clicked into position.

2. Clean the Printhead How to Clean Printer Heads: A Guide to Better Ink Efficiency

If the printhead is clogged or dirty, cleaning it may help:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it again.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and printhead carefully.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to wipe the printhead. Avoid using paper towels or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Dry the printhead thoroughly before reinserting it into the printer.

3. Reset the Printer

Sometimes, a reset can clear any temporary software issues causing the error:

  • With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

4. Run Printer Diagnostics

  • On your Windows 10 PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 and click Manage.
  • Click Printer Properties, then go to the Maintenance tab and select Clean Printhead or any available diagnostic tool to check the printhead status.

5. Replace the Printhead (if necessary)

If none of the above works and you still see the "Printerhead problem" message, your printhead might need to be replaced. Contact HP support or check your printer’s warranty status for potential coverage on a replacement.

6. Check for Firmware/Software Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Visit the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
  • Install the latest drivers and software for your printer to ensure compatibility and potentially fix bugs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
