I have a solid yellow light in the upper right corner of my Envy 6055e.  I replaced the print cartridge.  It recognizes that it was replaced, but it still shows that the ink is low.  After replacing the cartridge it didn't ask to align the cartridges.

Hi @dpeters2721,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The solid yellow light on the upper right corner of your HP Envy 6055e printer typically indicates a problem with the ink system or printer status. Since you've already replaced the ink cartridge and it's still showing low ink, there may be an issue with cartridge recognition or alignment.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Cartridge Compatibility

  • Ensure that the replacement cartridge is the correct one for your printer (HP 67 or 67XL for HP Envy 6055e).
  • Confirm that the cartridge is seated properly in its slot and there are no protective tabs or stickers still attached to the contacts.

Manually Align the Printhead

  • If the printer did not prompt you to align the cartridges, you can manually align them:
    • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
    • Go to Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Align Printheads.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.

Clean Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and remove the cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridge.
  • Allow them to dry for a few minutes, then reinstall the cartridge and turn the printer back on.

Reset the Printer

  • With the printer powered on, unplug the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the yellow light clears and the ink level updates.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer is running the latest firmware. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or on the HP website under Drivers & Software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
