The envelope/ink drop light on my HP3720 is blinking persistently. I have recently changed both ink cartridges. I can print the printer information page but nothing else. I have checked for blockages but the cartridges move correctly, I have been into my HP account and updated my plan details, Still, nothing prints!

Hi @PM1977,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When the envelope and ink light is blinking on your HP DeskJet 3720, it typically indicates an issue with the ink system or the printer's connection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the new ink cartridges are correctly installed and securely in place.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges, making sure to remove any protective plastic or tape that might still be on them.
Run the Printer's Maintenance:
- Access the printer’s maintenance options through the printer control panel or the HP Smart app.
- Run a cleaning cycle to clear any potential clogs in the print heads.
Check for Blockages:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer.
- Check the output tray and input tray for any obstructions.
Verify Connection:
- Make sure your printer is properly connected to your network (if using Wi-Fi) or to your computer (if using USB).
- Print a network configuration page to confirm that the printer is connected correctly.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
- If you suspect driver issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers.
Perform a Factory Reset:
- If none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a factory reset on your printer. Be sure to check the user manual for specific instructions on how to do this for your model.
Check HP Account:
- Since you mentioned updating your plan details, ensure that there are no holds or issues with your HP Instant Ink account that might affect printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
