I have an HP ENVY 5055 that has error code 0XB8D34066 .What does this error mean, and how do I fix it?

Try these steps:

1. Restart the Printer

Perform a basic power cycle:

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet and the printer.
  5. Turn the printer back on.

2. Check for Paper Jams

Ensure there are no paper jams:

  • Open all access doors and compartments (including the input and output trays) to inspect for and remove any jammed paper.

3. Check Ink Cartridges

Verify the cartridges are correctly seated:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure all cartridges are properly installed and clicks into place.
  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any protective tape that may not have been removed.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Ensure your printer has the latest firmware update:

5. Use HP Smart App

Utilize the HP Smart App to diagnose and troubleshoot:

  • Download the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer and connect it to your printer.
  • Use the diagnostic tools within the app to identify and resolve errors.

A factory reset can clear some hardware errors:

  1. On the printer’s control panel, find the Setup or Settings menu.
  2. Navigate to Reset options and perform a factory reset.

7. Check for Obstructions

Make sure there are no foreign objects inside the printer that might be causing an error:

  • Visually inspect and gently move the carriage to ensure it can move freely.
