I have an HP Envy 4520.  I changed the black ink with an original HP ink product.  Now, the printer will not print. The printer acts like it is printing and spits the paper out but there is nothing on the page.  I also ran out of color ink.  The empty one is in.  Even if I tell the printer to print black and white it still prints nothing.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

 I see that the printer is printing blank pages after cartridge replacement, this could be an issue with the ink or the printer ink system itself.

 

First, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Also, follow the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues to isolate the issue and resolve it.

I don't have a cord to connect to the printer.  Will it work if I do it without connecting.  I usually use bluetooth to print.

I updated the printer from hp website.  It did not print anything when I hit the test print button.  It asked if I wanted to switch from Air Print to HP Print and I chose HP.  Maybe I should have chosen Air Print?
