Hi @Grahame4,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the printer's power cable while it is still turned on.
- Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds to let the residual charge dissipate from the printer.
- Reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet.
- Power on your printer to check if the error persists.
Check for Paper Jams or Blockages:
- Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
- Remove any paper fragments and ensure the print carriage can move freely.
Update Printer Firmware:
- If possible, ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. This can often fix known bugs and issues.
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:
- If the error persists, you might consider resetting the printer to its factory settings. Note that this will erase any custom settings or configurations.
- Navigate to the printer's menu and look for the option to reset to factory settings. If this option isn’t visible, refer to the user manual for more instructions.
I hope this helps.
