Hi @john3481,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the 0xc19a0002 error code on the HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer typically indicates an ink system failure. Since you've already tried removing and replacing the print cartridge,

here are some additional steps to try:

1. Reset the Printer

  • Turn on the printer.
  • While the printer is still on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the back of the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

2. Clean the Ink Cartridges and Printhead

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the cartridges carefully.
  • Clean the copper contacts on the cartridges with a clean, lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water.
  • Clean the printhead (where the cartridges sit) in a similar manner.
  • Allow everything to dry for a few minutes before reinserting the cartridges.

 3. Reinstall the Printhead

  • Turn the printer on and open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Lift the printhead latch and remove the printhead.
  • Reseat the printhead securely and close the latch.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridges.

4. Perform a Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can download the latest firmware from the HP Support website for your model.

5. Reset the Printer’s Internal System (Partial Reset)

  • From the printer’s control panel, press and hold the “#” key and the “3” key at the same time.
  • The printer should reboot and perform a partial reset.
  • If that doesn’t work, you can also try holding down the “#” key and the “6” key for a more thorough reset.

6. Use Genuine HP Cartridges

Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. If the cartridges are not authentic, the printer may not function properly.

7. Service or Replace the Printhead

If the issue persists, the printhead may be faulty and require replacement. You can order a new printhead from HP Store Help

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
