I was printing on my HP DeskJet 2852e this morning.  I shut it off for several hours and now i cannot print.  The WiFi light is Blinking and the code says: printer setup incomplete.  How can that be since i have been using this printer for Months?

Hi @Blondie45,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2852e is displaying "setup incomplete" and the WiFi light is blinking, it could indicate a few issues. Here are some steps to troubleshoot.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables are properly connected.
  • If using WiFi, make sure your printer is connected to the correct network.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reconnect to WiFi:

  • Go to your printer’s control panel and navigate to the network settings.
  • Reconnect the printer to your WiFi network. You may need to enter your WiFi password again.

Check Printer Software:

  • Ensure that the HP Smart app or printer software is up to date on your computer or mobile device.
  • You might need to run a setup or installation process again from the HP Smart app.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Consult the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset if the above steps don’t work.

Update Firmware:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates are required. Check HP's website for any available updates for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your comments and instructions.  Unfortunately after more than an hour, I decided to "hard wire" my printer.  I think the WiFi card went out and needed to print several reports and photos immediately.  Thank you for your assistance.
