I have an 8600 and it is stuck. I have cancelled a printing task from a few ago, but it will not delete from the printing cue.

Hi @watchout4me, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the print job is stuck in the queue and preventing other tasks from processing. Try the following steps to clear the queue and get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 working again:

Step 1: Manually Clear the Print Queue

Stop the Print Spooler Service

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  • Right-click it and select Stop.

Delete Stuck Print Jobs

  • Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  • Delete all files in this folder (do not delete the folder itself).
  • If prompted for admin permission, click Continue.

Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Step 2: Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it for 2-3 minutes, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Try printing again.

Step 3: Reinstall the Printer Driver (if needed)

If the issue persists, try reinstalling the printer driver:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 and select Remove device.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Download and install the latest driver from the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
