@Biba66, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP DeskJet 2855e printer is flashing an orange light, it's typically indicating a problem that needs to be addressed. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer's display or your computer screen for any specific error messages.

Ink Cartridge Issues:

  • As you mentioned you've already checked the ink levels, ensure that both the black and color cartridges are properly seated in their respective slots.
  • Remove the cartridges and reinsert them to ensure they are properly installed.

Paper Jam:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams. Remove any stuck paper and ensure the paper path is clear.

Printer Alignment:

  • Ensure the printhead is aligned. Sometimes performing an alignment through the printer’s settings can resolve errors.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for a minute. Then, plug it back in and restart it.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is an available firmware update for your printer, as updates can fix bugs or improve functionality.

Reset the Printer:

  • Conduct a printer reset by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer and waiting 15 seconds before plugging it back in.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
