I have had my printer for many years now. Printer HP DeskJet Plus 4120. Series number Removed. I´ve been printing on it for all this time i´ve had it. Now i wanted to scan a document, so for that I opened the HP Smart app on my macbook. It said that i would need to finish the setup in order to scan a document. When trying to do that, it kept showing me the stated error code. What does it mean and how can it be fixed?

Hi @SaraReisyan,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the error code EBS00P0012!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure Printer is Connected to Wi-Fi:
- Make sure your printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network and that you're using the same network on your MacBook.
- You can reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using its control panel or the HP Smart app.
Check HP Smart App for Updates:
- Ensure that the HP Smart app is up to date on your MacBook. Visit the Mac App Store to check for updates and install the latest version if necessary.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, unplug it, wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your MacBook to refresh connections and the network settings.
Re-add the Printer:
- Remove the printer from your HP Smart app and then re-add it:
- Open HP Smart.
- Go to "Printers" and remove the HP DeskJet Plus 4120.
- Click on "Add Printer" and follow the prompts to add your printer again.
Check Firewall and Security Settings:
- Ensure that firewall or security settings on your MacBook are not blocking the HP Smart app or printer communications. Adjust the settings as necessary.
Connect Directly via USB:
- If wireless setup fails, try connecting your printer directly to your MacBook using a USB cable.
- Complete the setup process in HP Smart and try scanning again.
I hope this helps.
