Hi @DAB63,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting a 79 Service Error on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277c6 typically indicates a firmware or connectivity issue. Since you've updated the software and disabled IPv6, here are some further steps to help resolve the problem:

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Disconnect it from the power source for 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed:

  1. Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter your printer model: MFP M277c6.
  3. Download and install the latest firmware.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

3. Clear Print Queue

Sometimes corrupted print jobs can trigger a 79 error. Clear the print queue:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler in the list.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler, select Stop, and clear all files in: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  4. Restart the Print Spooler.

4. Reinstall the Printer Driver

  1. Uninstall the existing printer driver from your computer:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Select your printer and choose Remove device.
  2. Download the latest driver from HP's website:
    • Visit the HP Driver Page.
    • Choose the Full Solution Software package.
  3. Install the new driver and connect the printer.

5. Reset Network Settings

Reset the printer's network settings to clear any misconfigurations:

  • Access the Setup Menu on the printer's control panel.
  • Navigate to Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to your network and verify it's using the correct IPv4 address.

6. Check Desktop File Print Settings

If the printer works for emails but not desktop files:

  • Ensure the correct printer is selected in the print dialog.
  • Try printing from a different program (e.g., Word, Adobe Reader).
  • If the issue persists, check the file format compatibility or try printing a similar file type.

7. Factory Reset

If the problem persists, reset the printer to factory settings:

  • On the printer, navigate to Setup > Service > Restore Defaults.

8. Test Print

  • Print a test page from the printer control panel or HP Smart app to confirm functionality.
Refer to this document: HP LaserJet Pro - 79 Errors

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
